Once again, I was up and awake early, and I was on the road by 07:45. It was a cloudy morning, and cooler than many recent days, so I wasted no time. I left La Isla ahead of many of my fellow pilgrims, just as the dawn was fully breaking.

The first kilometers are easy enough, and I made good time, reaching Colunga in just over an hour.
After Colunga, the route passes through a succession of small villages. Pernus was the first. There were no shops, and I could see no water point.

The next one, La Llera was similar. No shops, no bars. Priesca was the same. Not even a water point at any of them. I always carry water and was glad of it at Priesca. There was nothing either at La Vega (different from the lunch stop of yesterday). Even Sebrayo had nothing, though it was the biggest of those villages. Leaving Sebrayo, I had a last look out towards the coast. I will be going inland tomorrow, so this is the last I will see of the coast.

Luckily, about half way between Sebrayo and my destination of Villaviciosa, there was an albergue that offered refreshments. I was joined there by two of my fellow pilgrims from last night, and we sat for a while chatting. Then I was on my way again. It was only another hour to Villaviciosa, and I arrived there with the town in the later stages of its lunchtime.

After my usual end-of-walk shower, and a good lunch, I had a chance to walk around the town. It is a small place, but interestingly, the church was open.

It was a shorter day today than other days, and this is reflected in my step count of just 36,934 at time of writing.
