The previous day was short, but this one, the penultimate day of my route to Santiago, was even shorter. I was only going 12km. So once again, I did not rush to leave Arzua. I had breakfast at the restaurant in the main square, along with many other walkers, and with that done, I was ready for the day.

If anything, there were even more walkers on the route today. This was not really srprising, since the Camino del Note joins the route at Arzua, so now all the routes from eas of Santiago had converged together. The route goes through agricultural territory for the most part. There would be no more of the wild scenery of the Camino del Norte or the Primitivo.

In A Calzada, I came across a bar that did not so much recycle old bottles, as turn them into “art”. Sometimes I wonder about people, but in any case, this bar had mounted hundreds of bottles on trees and shrubs around the bar. I don’t stop at such places, but went quickly on.
I reached my destination in Salceda well in time for lunch, and was able to relax for the rest of the day.
