I am back on the trail.
I am reminded of the lines from Rudyard Kipling:
There’s a whisper down the field where the year has shot her yield,
And the ricks stand grey to the sun,
Singing: ‘Over then, come over, for the bee has quit the clover,
‘And your English summer’s done.’
You have heard the beat of the off-shore wind,
And the thresh of the deep-sea rain;
You have heard the song—how long? how long?
Pull out on the trail again!
It is autumn, and the summer is indeed over, so it was do it now, or wait until 2021 It was definitely time to pull out on the trail again, and here I am.. Despite the current issues with traveling, I flew to Bordeaux yesterday evening, and got the train to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port today. I had forgotten my Pilgrim Passport, so the first thing I had to do was to get a new one. Because Saint jean is the start for most pilgrims, it is relatively easy, but it does take a bit of time. I had planned to start walking directly form the train, but the need to go to the pilgrimage office and get a new document delayed me. Even if there hadn’t been that delay, the weather here has been awful today, so I am not sure if going on would have been a good idea anyway.
But tomorrow is another day. I plan to follow the GR10 to the coast, and the Camino del Norte from there. Why do things the simple way?

You are not only a Chemist but a Poet as well. I admire your passion to walk not just a hundred miles but more..
As I read..I felt I was walking with you…hahaha
